The essentials
Your market-day questions, answered.
When is Yarraville Farmers Market on?
The fourth Sunday of every month, from 8am to 1pm. Our first market is Sunday 27 September 2026, followed by 25 October and 22 November 2026.
Where is the market held?
Bassett Reserve, Geelong Road, West Footscray VIC 3012. The reserve sits right where Yarraville, Kingsville and West Footscray meet, in Melbourne's inner west.
How much does it cost to visit?
Entry is free. Bring a bag, an appetite, and maybe a little cash for a coffee.
What can I buy at the market?
Seasonal fresh produce first, then bread, meat, dairy and eggs, pantry staples, specialty drinks, and hot food and coffee to enjoy on the day. Everything is Australian-grown or made, and sold directly by the producer or maker, never a wholesaler or reseller.
Is the market really plastic-free?
We are committed to being 100% single-use plastic free, and it is written into our stallholder Terms and Conditions. Some stalls use items that look like plastic but are actually made from plants, such as clear cups and containers made from PLA (a bioplastic from corn or sugarcane) and sturdy tableware pressed from sugarcane fibre, from certified-compostable suppliers like BioPak and Vegware. To help us reduce waste and our reliance on plastics, please BYO bags, trolleys, reusable coffee cups and containers.
Is it family-friendly?
Very. It is a relaxed weekend morning in the park, so bring the kids, meet your neighbours, and take your time.
Who runs Yarraville Farmers Market?
The market is run by Common Ground Markets, a Melbourne team dedicated to varied, producer-direct farmers markets across the inner west.
I would like a stall. How do I apply?
